No, walking sticks are not intended to be used for full weight support. Walking sticks should be used to aid light injuries or improve balance.
Some of our walking sticks have been designed solely for use by persons who are disabled or chronically sick. Our anatomical and orthopaedic handled walking sticks, white canes and heavy sticks have been designed for solely for use by a disabled person, for a range of conditions including hand problems, eyesight issues and bariatric issues. HM Revenue & Customs rules allow these items to be zero-rated for VAT and purchased by the customer at a VAT exclusive price as long as they are purchased by or for a disabled or chronically sick person. Heathergems
Heathergems is a range of natural jewellery and gifts made in Scotland with Scottish heather stems. Heather is collected near Pitlochry and then dried, died various colours, compressed and turned into our unique items.
Every Heathergem item is unique. No two are exactly the same so each single piece is individual. We try our best to give you a selection of colours in your order. Please use the Special Instructions Box at order checkout stage if you have a particular request and we will try our best to help although this will depend on stock availability.
Please do not immerse your jewellery in water or wear whilst bathing, showering or swimming. Do not allow jewellery to come in contact with hairspray, makeup, perfume and substances containing corrosive chemicals. Also affected by perspiration. Our jewellery needs to be cleaned on an on-going basis to keep it looking its best. To clean sterling silver and silver plated fittings use a silver cloth and gently rub. Do not subject your jewellery of gifts to any undue stress or pressure.

A Sgian Dubh is a small ornamental knife worn in the sock by men and women wearing Scottish Kilt and Highland Dress outfits. The easiest way to say it is ‘Skee-an Doo’.
The Law in Scotland changed in 2009 requiring Knife Dealers selling blades of more than 3.5 inches long to be licensed. All Sgian Dubh Company blades are supplied below this length meaning retailers do not require a license to sell our Sgian Dubhs.
Our blades and quaichs and some other gift items can be engraved, however, we unfortunately do not offer this service at present.
Yes, we can supply sharpened blades depending on stock availability. Please contact us for more information. Our stainless steel blades can also be sharpened by a skilled craftworker.
