Charles Buyers started the company in 1969 with Hugh Kerr, initially manufacturing and distributing Heathergems jewellery. The original jewellery designs were made from staghorn with heather inlays. The business gradually increased their product range using Scottish staghorn and soon Horncraft was set up manufacturing horn giftware products, including sgian dubhs. This developed further into staghorn handled walking sticks and in the early 1980’s our walking stick business began. As the business grew over the next 10 years we continued to develop new product lines and by the mid 90’s The Sgian Dubh Company began.

 Today Charles Buyers & Co Ltd has an extensive and varied product collection available from our 4 brands. The Walking Stick Collection by Charles Buyers & Ziggy has the most comprehensive range of walking sticks in the UK market. We have a great selection of folding walking sticks, umbrellas, seat sticks, beautifully crafted wooden sticks and collectors canes. Heathergems jewellery, made in Pitlochry, in the Scottish Highlands is one of the most unique ranges of jewellery in the world. Our designs are inspired by the hills, Scottish symbols or motifs and current trends so we remain relevant.  The Sgian Dubh Company has largest collection of sgian dubhs, kilt pins and accessories available in the highland wear market and our Giftware by Charles Buyers offers a great selection of quality Scottish gifts including whisky glasses, hipflasks and pocket watches.
